Karen Jo Meade
I have been a member of Sweet Adelines International since 1981. My chorus life started with Tucson Horizon Chorus. I then became a charter member of the Tucson Goodtime Singers/Tucson Desert Harmony.
There are many jobs within a chorus and I seem to have participated in most of them. I was a chorus choreographer for over 30 years, a board member, a section leader, and associate director, and now front line director since 2010. I have also been active in our Region 21 activities where I was the Director Coordinator for 3 years.
Quartet singing is definitely a joy in my life. I have been active in quartets for years and won the regional quartet championship 5 times. I was also fortunate to place in the top 10 at our International Contest competition twice.
Singing barbershop music just makes me a happier person. The relationships I have enjoyed with my chorus friends will be in my heart forever. I can't imagine doing anything more rewarding than singing with my best friends!
